Over the Halloween weekend Odiham’s handsome Cross Barn hosts the guild’s autumn selling exhibition of superb craft. Against the historic backdrop of the barn, members will showcase their expert use of materials allied with lively creativity and a modern feel - as always, the hallmarks of the Hampshire & Berkshire Guild.
There will be beautifully crafted contemporary furniture on display; tactile carved wooden vessels; stylish printed and woven textiles to wear and to add texture and colour to interiors; unique jewellery including one-off pieces, and a selection of patterned and subtle ceramics and glass, both tableware and statement pieces for the home. The show will host some of the guild’s newest members alongside the latest work from longstanding makers who exhibit nationally and are at the top of their game.
As well as a great opportunity to browse and buy gifts or succumb to a little self-indulgence, the show is a chance to talk directly to the makers about the inspiration behind their work and the processes that transform an abstract idea into the finished object you see. It’s also an ideal time to chat to the exhibitors about what opportunities and benefits guild membership offers to those who are accomplished makers themselves. You can find out more about joining the guild here.
The show opens from 5-7pm on Friday 30th October and continues on Saturday10-5pm and Sunday 1st November 10-4pm. Entry is free.
